Too many deaths in the family

Today, my mom told me our Aunt Cely died in the hospital. She was a huge help to us while we were growing as she helped in taking care of our lola (her elder sister) and us in the household. She was a nice lady, she always have time to prepare the food for important celebrations.

But her death was not in a good timing as it happened during the 91st bday of my lola. She must be still in shock as her younger brother died last month as well.

Hay. Pag oras mo na talaga oras mo na.

Rest in peace Aunty, see you soon :(

First 50K experience

It was a very tough-tough race!!! Sir Jovie was not kidding when he said that it was a very challenging race when he first briefed us about it. How hard was it?

- The terrain was challenging because of the crazy uphills which from my estimate resulted to 30 degrees inclination. Ok sana eh, kaso yung mga inclination niya sustained for almost 2 km.

- The heat!!! I was targeting to finish the race within 6 hours but the heat and exhaustion will literally kill you. I'm not sure what's the temperature yesterday but I'm pretty sure no one would like to stay under it starting 10 am onwards. (sunog na sunog ako). I was wearing a hydration belt pero di talaga kaya ang init (yung gatorade na nilagyan ko ng yelo, within 15 minutes uminit na uli!)

- Training is the key. Lack of training caused me my speed and endurance to suffer. Although it was not only me, a lot of runners probably experienced walking during the last 15 kms. (grabe, almost 80% of my last strides I walked).

Lagi kong tinitignan ang lupa to see how far I'm to the next set of marker.

- Strength is another key factor. Like the previous entry, this race is not for the weak hearted. I salute those people who finished late (mga 12 noon) because of the scorching heat from the sun. Saw two topless guys still running to reach the finish line when we were going home (mga 130 pm na ata yun)

- Without the support crew of takbo.ph, i might not be able to finish the race. Thank you for the hydration, food and sponge bath (amp! super lamig!) which helped me kept going in the race. I'm forever in-debted with you.

This is really a remarkable experience for me. Sobrang hirap but that won't stop me from joining the next one. PAU - Laoag, here I come! :)

Saddest Day

I wish for your success and happiness to whatever you do.

Ma-miss kita :(

Graduation Day

This was an overdue post. I acknowledge that but nonetheless, I need to post what I experienced during that day, the day that finally ended my 3 year post-graduate studies.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning. Just came from a race yesterday and Tagaytay, started the day by attending the early morning mass. Yep, I still lack sleep but I need to go to church to thank Him for making this day happen. Of course, it's God's will in the first place that I finally was able to make it to the finish line.

After the mass, we decided to get home and catch some sleep. I was not planning to attend the morning ceremonies since it was too early for me but I still pushed-on. I went to the recognition rites with my parents, brother and cousin. I wore the barong I bought a few weeks back (to You who chose this for me, thank you! :) ) and found it really elegant. It was simple in design but it served its purpose. I brought my camera as well to take photos of the event. I gave it to my brother in hope that he will take good shots of the event.

We're like celebrities in our own rights :). May AVP rin ang batch namin, although sobrang simple niya, we appreciate the work done by our officemates (Adie, Asel and Karen). Lunch was also served after the events (bitin!!!).

We went to the University graduation after lunch. As if faith was smiling upon us, there were clouds! They were blocking the scorching heat of the sun such that it made us at least a bit comfortable for the event. Picture uli dito, picture uli doon.

The ceremony ended quickly. Before 6 tapos na lahat pati pagtugtog ng UP naming Mahal.

Me, Garry and Marl decided to celebrate the event by having dinner at our favourite after-class venue, Dencio's. We reminisce the years we had in MTM plus met a couple of new friends (c/o Jobert). Drank a few bottle of beers while Don Isi joined us as we were almost drunk. Ang sayang magkwentuhan matapos ang lahat.

Overall it was tiring but a happy day for all of us. It formally closed the chapter of our lives and opened a new exciting path for the batch. I'm happy that I was able to finish the course within my planned timings but happier because we have a fantastic batchmates whom I shared the long journey.

To us graduates, congratulations and good luck to whatever the future has in-store for us.

Zest-Air Bwiset

Boracay 2007 -> First time sa Boracay, delayed ng isang oras. Understandable kasi first time sa Bora

Boracay 2008 (2nd trip) -> Hay naku... ni-cancel yung flight namin at ginawang mas late. Punyemas na yan

Boracay 2010 (last straw) -> Delayed ang flight for 4 hours. Made me missed my barkada's wedding yesterday. Really made my blood boil kasi its supposed to be a mini-reunion :(

Zest-air management, please hear this. Nagpalit kayo ng brand but not the quality of service. Still sucks after all these years and no wonder that there are numerous complaints about you. Sana naman mag-improve na kayo kasi kawawa naman yung mga taong pinili kayo for their flights.

This is the last time I'm going to use your service. Punyemas kayo...
