Katangahan 101

It was supposedly a fast trip back home from the store today. I started the car, opened the aircon then turned-on the radio. Then I remembered that I left my wallet at the trunk. So I opened up the door and went back to the trunk. As I pick it up, my spare key for the car fell down. So I was so curious and tested if it will work.

Guess what happened next, the key works for locking the car but not for opening it!!! I was stuck outside the car while the engine is still running. Tangina talaga!!! So I have to run from the store back to the main road and rode a jeep back home to get my spare tire. I was always looking at my watch and thank God, it only took me 20 minutes to get back and opened the car.

Moral of the story: Hwag tatanga-tanga. Masakit sa ulo...

Wow! Malas!

Luck is really taking its toll on me right now. Too many evil things are happening such that its getting all on my nerves. However, I need to learn how to control my depression and sadness. I need to be calm as I approach the upcoming storms in its full strength.

Easier said than done but I need to control myself. I should. I don't want to lose my wits over the pouring rain. Hay. I only wish that I'm at the end of the line of these unfortunate events. It's really taking a toll on me, honestly. I hope and pray to God that he would show us the light of hope beyond the sea of tragedy.

Crap, ang emo ko pero kailangan ko siyang ilabas. Mahirap ang buhay ngayon lalo pang lumalala eh.

God, ikaw na muna bahala. Gusto ko muna magpahinga...

Globe Run Post-mortem write-up

This is my first attempt to formally do a write-up about a run. And it is supposedly fun! :)

March 21 2010 marks the 2nd Globe Run For Home held at the Ayala Triangle. It was the first ever run which will start and end at the heart of the Makati CBD so I got excited about it. Also I've marked it as my "pambawi" run after an unsatisfactory record during my Unilab run (I was injured on that event and it caused me my PR :( ).

I'll categorize my comments about the race under the (+) and the (-):

(+)
- New route for seasoned runners. Most of the events that I joined was held in the Fort area and I was always looking forward for something new. Also the new route inside the heritage park was really challenging
- Tons of hydration stations! More than enough water, sports drink and banana to support the runners across the race
- The ice-cold sponge. I felt refreshed after squeezing one in my head and putting it at my back
- Freebies are abundant! (breakfast, magazines, bags, etc.)
- Medical help are everywhere. I saw a couple of ambulance throughout the route which were ready to help
- Bulk-registration discounts were cool! :)

(-)
- Registration logistics. Only one person was manning the registration booth doing all the chores. Imagine how long would it take to have 10 people registering 10 runners at a time!
- Bouncers during the event. I've read the comments from a running forum about how they affect the event. IMHO, bouncers belong to the club not to racing events
- Traffic control. We understand that it's challenging to control traffic since the race is held within the Makati CBD but it's equally important to consider the safety of the runners. I witnessed some close calls where the drivers were really insisting about crossing the intersections.

Overall, the event was a great as I'm guessing a lot had enjoyed both the race and post-race events. Kudos to the organizers!

Roughly 2 weeks

I only have almost 2 weeks left before I move on. 3 years has passed since I held my post, grew and learned a lot from it. It's a mix of emotions as I saw it grew through the years, facing a lot of challenges and see all of them mature into who they are right now.

But I need to accept and embrace change. A door of opportunity has opened and I chose to enter it. It's a very tough decision but God-willingly, I would make it the right one.

Two-weeks away from a new life and I'm excited!

Secret Project

I've got a secret project somewhere out there in the internet. It will be revealed soon after some events.

Watch out for it! :)

Easter Day for a twisted mind

Easter is supposed to be a day of rejoicing for some of the Christian folks as Jesus rised from the grave and went to heaven. But what if there was a twist on how easter was celebrated? Being inspired with how Neil Gaiman mind works, I have my own top-5 alternative easter activities:

1. Instead of easter eggs, why not use landmines? They are both hard to find and finding one can give an excitement! Plus you'll really know that the kids have found their easter landmine (ka-boom).

2. Instead of easter bunny, why not have a deadly alligator/croc as the easter animal. Put the eggs on the mouth and see the fun it will bring to the crowd!

3. I heard this from Rex Navarette in his audio joke(?) that Christ told Paul on the day he will rise-up again, tell the whole world to paint eggs during Easter

4. Kids should be wearing Elmer Fudd costume and hunt down the Easter bunny. Give them some elephant live rounds and genuine shotgun, let the poor bunny run and shoot it like hell!

5. Make the Easter Bunny throw the eggs at the kids. The more he hits the better Easter is!

Don't worry, I'm not serious with these items. I just want to see an alternative violent Easter celebration (but nobody's stopping you from doing them :) )

Happy Easter Everyone!

Testing the capability to post blogs

I'm literally happy with my phone right now. with it, i can easily update my blog whenever there is a wifi hotspot and even without my laptop. I'm glad i made a decision to switch to it early last month as it packs the feature i need for a phone on the go.

I heart my phone, costly but still it packs a lot of punches.

Now i only need to worry about my monthly phone bills. (crap!!!)

Investments paying off

3 years have passed and my investments are indeed paying off already. Masters which I will be finishing this April and a small land I bought was already starting to bore some fruits. I'm happy as I saw them rolled out before my eyes even if it took a while to complete.

God really knows the best and I owe this all to Him.

Ang bukid

Even though I lack sleep, I was forced to go to the farm today with my family. I woke up in a bad mood and really acted like a brat but towards the end of the day, it was a fun trip:

1. Enjoyed the fresh organic food from Tito Junior's bukid (tinolang manok na native, inihaw na mga isda tulad ng dalag, bulig at imelda pati saluyot at sitaw na sinabawan with fresh bagoong isda!)

2. Walked towards my tito's farm under the high noon sun! Literally sweating and exhausted after the long walk but its worth it. Amazed with the big mango trees and the big fish pond in the middle of his big farm! (with goose and ducks at the side)

3. Talked with him for my next business venture. We'll try to experiment on something new this year and hopefully I can get additional financing from my partners *wink *wink

4. After 3 years, the mangoes planted in my piece of land finally bore some fruits. Anak ng pating, pagkaliit pa lang pero ang laki ng mga prutas at ang dami!

Ended the day with pansit and iced tea. Mainit pero worth it ang trip. Will be back in the next set of days to establish our next project :)

Here are sample pictures of the mangoes:
